The REO Rafting Resort is an amazing place to live and work in the summer. It is located right on the Nahatlatch River in a very beautiful and private setting. The area is known as the Fraser Canyon, just 2.5 hours from Vancouver in southwestern British Columbia. We are open late-May to September, with the busiest months being July and August. Many of our guests come to REO simply to enjoy nature and our amazing setting along the river.  You will meet guests and co-workers who come from all over the world. Marketing Assistant

Location - REO Rafting Resort, Nahatlatch Valley
Seasonal, June 15 - Sept 1, 2020 (start and end dates negotiable)
Compensation: 16.50 per hour; 30-40 hours a week

 

Skill Requirements

  1. Previous customer service and/or sales experience
  2. Previous marketing experience (eg. digital marketing such as graphic design, google ads, and social media)
  3. Previous experience with promotions and campaigns
  4. Effective client service skills, such as, communicating, interacting and developing relationships with customers via phone, email and in person
  5. Familiarity with point of sale systems, custom reservations, and logistics programs
  6. A positive attitude, friendly and professional

Major Responsibilities

  1. Optimize our marketing automation and acquire new customers through email, google ads, and social channels
  2. Run regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success
  3. Explore new ways to engage and identify new social networks to reach our target customers

  5. Oversee guest check-in and departures

Housekeeping Attendant

Compensation: 15.60 per hour; 30 hours a week

  1. Previous experience in housekeeping and/or cleaning
  2. Attention to detail
  3. Great attitude towards living and working outdoors
  4. Willing to work hard to uphold the company standards of resort cleanliness and accommodation presentation

Major Responsibilities

  1.  Maintain general resort cleanliness and accommodations including resort grounds, bathrooms and showers
  2. Assist managers and work alongside other co-workers
  3.  Ensure that glamping tents are cleaned and prepared with required linen prior to guest's arrival, make sure all linen and towels are washed, and keep laundry room organized and tidy
  4.  Responsibilities include sweeping glamping tent floors, decks and walkways, remove spider webs, clean mirrors and furniture, and water flowers daily
  5. Communicate regularly with supervisors and managers to find out daily tasks and changes to schedules

 

Outdoor Guide

Location - REO Rafting Resort, Nahatlatch Valley.
Seasonal July 1 - Sept 15, 2020 (start and end dates negotiable)
Compensation: 17.50 per hour; 30-40 hours a week

 

Skill Requirements

  1. Outdoor recreational experience
  2. Valid First Aid + CPR certificate
  3. Valid whitewater raft guide class 3 certificate
  4. Strong work ethic and communication skills
  5. Familiarization with pre-trip and post-trip activities
  6. Swiftwater Rescue training or experience
  7. A positive attitude, friendly and professional

Additional Experience

  2. Ensuring that guest communications are timely, professional and courteous
  3. Assist Trip Leaders on activities by helping with pre-trip planning, logistics and equipment preparation and post-trip activities including guest care, clean-up and follow-up
  4. Safely guide participates on activities while providing a fun and memorable experience
  5. Assist with sales and reservations
  6. Create photo and video content for marketing purposes
  7. Photograph raft trips
  8. Attend required meetings, training sessions and product familiarization trips
  9. Organizing and scheduling guest activities

 
 

Assistant Cook

Compensation: 15.60 per hour; 30 hours a week

 

Skill Requirements

  1. Previous cooking and/or meal prep experience
  2. Great attitude towards living and working outdoors
  3. Hands on leader in the kitchen
  4. Willing to listen and learn new techniques
  5. Able to prepare a wide range of high quality customized meals, entrees, salads, and desserts with the help of the Head Cook

  1. Ensure high-quality meals and on-time service
  2. Provide for special dietary restrictions and allergies, including daily vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options
  3. Help plan/prepare meals for special events up to 80 people
  4. Assist Head Cook with inventory; maintain safe storage conditions for all foods & minimize waste
  5. Engage and communicate with guests
  6. Ensure the highest level of sanitation for kitchen cleanliness and uphold BC health code regulations and kitchen permit

 
 

Senior Trip Leader: Nahatlatch River (Class 4+)

Location - REO Rafting Resort, Nahatlatch Valley
Seasonal June 15 - Sept 15, 2020 (start and end dates negotiable)
Compensation: negotiable; 35 hours a week

 

Skill Requirements

  1. Min 5 years raft guiding & trip leading experience on technical Class 3-4 rivers (provide list of rivers/trips)
  2. Rescue 3 Whitewater Rescue Technician certification or Class 4-5 safety kayak experience
  3. Wilderness First Aid OR comparable training (min 40 hours)
  4. Raft guide instructor training experience
  5. BC Class 2 or 4 bus license or equivalent
  6. Cell phone with plan that works in our area (Fraser Canyon BC) & waterproof watch
  7. Speak and write fluently in English
  8. A positive attitude, friendly and professional

Major Responsibilities

  1. Organize and trip lead rafting trips on Class 2, 3, 4 and 5 whitewater
  2. Greet guests and oversee guest care, assess medical issues, client needs
  3. Ensure guest safety while adhering to REO risk management protocols on-river & off-river
  4. Train and mentor junior guides and assist with fam trips, sign-off trips and river exams
  5. Prepare and implement training of basic swiftwater rescue techniques
  6. Prepare weekly work schedules for owner’s approval (guides, drivers and safety support)
  7. Manage and approve all river guide and staff timesheets for bi-monthly payroll
  8. Organize the repair and maintenance of all rafting and river equipment

Are you looking for an amazing summer experience that includes room and board and great adventures? Our popular volunteer program is ideal for adults of all ages who enjoy the great outdoors, love adventure, and are willing to meet the needs of our guests.

 

How Volunteering Works

Volunteers can choose our Weekend Warrior option or our popular Volunteer Week. Our Volunteer Week participants come from all over the world and some stay for several months because they love it!

Volunteers live, work and play at the REO resort. We provide all meals, beverages, shared cabin tent lodging and a range of adventure activities. In exchange, volunteers offer 25 hours per week.


Possible Jobs Volunteers May Do

.Volunteers may help prepare & serve meals, assist with resort cleaning & tidiness, housekeeping, trip logistics, landscaping & buildings maintenance, construction, and guest services. Please let us know your skills, interests and experience when you apply.


Activities

Volunteers are able to go rafting, join in other activities (lake paddling, kayaking, hiking) and enjoy the facilities hot tub, campfires, volleyball & nature trail.
